A charity thrift shop in Tallahassee, The Fix raises money for pet spay and neuter surgeries, and all of its proceeds go to Be The Solution, Inc. That nonprofit was founded in 2007 and works to end pet overpopulation and euthanasia in the community by promoting and arranging affordable spay and neuter surgeries. Sales at the shop pay for spay and neuter vouchers, which are also handed out at the store on set days each week.
The racks and shelves hold furniture, clothing, and household and kitchen goods, all stocked through public donations that directly support the voucher program. The shop is open five days a week, from Tuesday through Saturday. Large cutouts of dogs and cats fill its front windows, along with cloud-shaped signs about the cause.
