HopeTHRIFT in Fremont is owned by Hope Services, and every purchase goes toward that nonprofit's work improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. Hope Services has served people with conditions such as autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy since 1954.
The racks carry fashion, housewares, toys and bikes, with new items arriving daily. Open six days a week, Sundays included, the store also accepts donated goods and provides donation receipts. Members of the HopeREWARDS program earn points toward savings, with double points on Wednesdays. The white building is trimmed in red stripes beneath a sign marked with red, green and blue arrows.
