This Fremont thrift store and donation center is run by St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County, a Vincentian charity whose current council was founded in 1938. Donations go straight to work, paying for meals, shelter, workforce development, housing support and essential services for neighbors who are homeless, housing insecure, food insecure or living in poverty. The organization's free dining room and drop-in centers also offer laundry, clothing and showers, along with a job training program.
The store takes donated goods as well as selling them. It is open five days a week and stays open into the evening on at least one of them. The mustard-yellow building has bold blue trim, and its sign is topped by a band of rainbow-colored blocks.
