Every purchase at Humane Together Thrift and Gift goes toward helping homeless animals. The Montgomery County Humane Society runs the store, and the same Rockville organization handles cat and dog rescue adoptions, spay and neuter services, vaccination clinics and a pet food pantry. The shelves hold resale goods of many kinds, including clothing, books, housewares, furniture, home décor, toys and electronics.
Donations go to the back of the building, where signs guide drop-offs during set donation hours on a few days each week. The society also keeps a list of items it cannot accept. The shop is open six days a week, Sundays included. On its beige strip-center front, white letters above the door spell out MCHS Thrift Store.
