A charity-partnered thrift shop, Haltom Thrift has been in business since 2008 and is the official partner of Leukemia Texas. Its sales and donations fund research, patient support and family resources for Texans affected by blood cancers. The floor carries secondhand clothing, household goods and furniture, and more than 4,000 new items go out every day. Donated clothing and home goods are accepted at the store.
Every item has a yellow, green, pink, blue or white tag, and the colors on sale change through the week. Regular sale days are Monday and Thursday, with store-wide sales during the year and red tags saved for special events. The store is open seven days a week and into the evening, under a bright red sign spelling out its name.
