Helping Hands Ministry of Belton runs Laura Mae's Resale Shop, which is open six days a week and closed Sundays. Donors bring items to the back door by the loading dock and ring the bell. The shop takes clothing, shoes and accessories for all ages, household goods, linens, home décor, toys, sporting equipment, antiques, furniture and large appliances. It cannot accept infant furniture or gear, medical equipment, or anything broken, stained or worn.
The shop's goal is to serve the whole community with resale goods everyone can afford. Neighbors facing a crisis can meet with the ministry's social workers to get a voucher for items. Wooden dining sets with carved chairs share the floor with long racks of clothing along the back wall.
