Every item at Blues City Thrift in Memphis comes in as a donation from people in the local community. The store is a 501(c)(3) charity and takes both goods fit for resale and gifts of money, and all donations are tax deductible. It is open five days a week. Over the entrance, a cream-colored tag with a gold trumpet sits above the name, and the word "thrift" is spelled out in large blue letters.
