Run by the Humane Society of Central Oregon, a private nonprofit funded only by donations and fundraisers, this Bend shop brings in more than $1 million a year for the shelter. The donation door takes goods Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sundays, though the store itself is open seven days a week. Furniture is no longer accepted at the door. Instead, donors schedule a pickup from their homes through Resupply. All donated items should be in good, sellable condition.
Clothing and household goods share the floor with collectibles, fine jewelry and antiques. The store also accepts cars, trailers, RVs, boats and motorcycles that are in good working order. A wooden slatted railing lines the balcony above the sales floor, and hanging signs mark the women's and men's clothing sections.
