In Hartville, Ohio, the Hartville Thrift Shoppe is an independent nonprofit thrift store that supports the mission of Mennonite Central Committee. It belongs to a network of stores that back MCC. Every donation and volunteer hour there funds relief, development and peace work, both locally and around the world. Over the years the shop has given more than $11 million to MCC.
Volunteers run the store with help from the community, and the work is rooted in faith-led service and stewardship. The shop is open six days a week and closed on Sundays, with evening hours on at least one day. Its long gray buildings stand behind an oval blue-and-white sign with a shopping-bag logo, and donations go to a separate drop-off entrance beside a furniture pickup door.
