Sales at the Joy Junction Thrift Shoppe in Albuquerque support Joy Junction's ministry serving people who are hungry or homeless, and Joy Junction employees have managed and staffed the store since it opened. The shelves carry clothing, furniture, dishware, small appliances, home décor, toys, games and books. Some donated items are set aside and given free of charge to shelter guests who need provisions.
Donations are accepted during daytime hours on business days and go to the warehouse directly behind the store. Every item must be clean and fully working, with nothing that needs repair or laundering. Large appliances, bicycles and similar pieces need a manager's approval and can be scheduled for pickup, and couches, tables and other furniture are screened by phone first. The store is open five days a week and stays open into the evening.
