St. Peter's Thrift Shop is run as a social justice ministry of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Freehold, New Jersey, and it helps people of all incomes shop with dignity. Money from its sales goes to the many ministries the church offers the greater Freehold community. The shop is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
New merchandise goes out every day, and the stock includes vintage, designer, antique, new and collectible items. Donations are taken only on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The shop accepts clothing, shoes, outerwear, special occasion wear, towels, bedding, cookware, kitchen utensils, games and luggage. It does not take cribs, infant or toddler car seats, mattresses, textbooks, cookbooks, or broken or stained toys. Inside, pink walls rise above shelves of glassware and china, with racks of clothing along one side.
