All profits from CVAN's Cool Used Stuff go toward helping battered women and their children find safety, shelter and support. The Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network runs the Concord resale shop. It is a domestic violence program that has been working since 1982. The store sells clothing for women, men and children, plus housewares, small appliances, decorations, shoes, jewelry, purses, belts, linens, books, DVDs and CDs.
Everything on the shelves is donated by the community. The store takes donations during business hours, and it is open five days a week. It does not accept toys, large baby items, car seats, furniture, mattresses, large appliances, computers, TVs, medical supplies, building materials, hangers or magazines. The storefront has red-framed windows and a red sign that reads "cool used stuff."
