Each month, the board of The Fabulous Find chooses which local causes receive the proceeds from this nonprofit resale boutique in Kittery, Maine. Both purchases and donated items support arts and environmental groups, a food pantry, fuel assistance, an animal shelter and educational organizations in the surrounding community.
The stock covers designer clothing, jewelry, home accessories, furniture, music and books. Inside, the sales floor has yellow walls, and wrought-iron baker's racks hold crystal stemware and china alongside crocheted blankets and other handmade textiles. The shop takes donations of household goods and apparel for resale, and every donated item goes toward the same monthly charitable giving. It is open five days a week, Sundays included.
