Clothing for the whole family fills this Springfield thrift store, along with dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Savers, a for-profit reuse company, runs it, and buying here does not benefit any nonprofit. Doors open seven days a week and stay open into the evening. Tuesdays are Senior Tuesday, with a discount for shoppers 55 and older, and Super Savers Club members earn rewards and get members-only sales.
Big red Savers letters stand out on a white panel set into the brick front, and the donation center sits at one end of the building. Donors can drop off clothing, shoes, bags, bedding, toys, books, sporting goods, small appliances and small furniture. Savers pays the Hartsprings Foundation for these goods, and the foundation uses that money to support Big Brothers Big Sisters.
