Working hand in hand with the Christian Outreach Center, Purple Cow in Baton Rouge supports a Christ-centered mission that helps individuals and families move toward stability and self-sufficiency. Its sales help fund essential services, help with essential documents, job readiness and financial education, the HandUp Prison Program, and community classes. Purple awnings over the entrance mark home decor, clothing and books, and a white cupola sits on top of the roof.
Donated items can be dropped off at any Purple Cow location during donation hours, and larger donations can be picked up for free. The store runs a rewards program and is open six days a week, closed on Sundays. Donations and purchases together help the Grocery Assistance Program serve more than 135 households every week.
