Donations at the Crystal Lake Savers are taken on behalf of Friends of the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. The for-profit thrift company pays that nonprofit for the goods, though purchases themselves benefit no charity. Accepted items include clothing and shoes, books and media, electronics, games and toys, housewares, bed and bath goods, sporting goods, bags, small appliances and small furniture. The store is open seven days a week and stays open into the evening.
The racks hold clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books and housewares. Shoppers 55 and older get a discount on Senior Tuesdays, and Super Savers Club members get one on Member Mondays. The donation center has its own entrance under green signage, to the right of the red Savers sign.
