Residents of the Harvey House and Tabitha House drug recovery programs learn basic job skills at Restoration Ministries Thrift Store and build their resumes there, and many are later hired full time. Sales also fund the ministry's programs. The store sells clothing, furniture, appliances and household items donated by individuals and businesses.
Donors can drop items off at the store or book a free pick-up. Clean-out services are offered for people who are downsizing or emptying a home after an estate sale. Donations also include shoes, jewelry, linens, knick-knacks and DVDs, but large older TVs, mattresses, baby car seats and cribs are not accepted. The store is closed on Sundays and occupies a long brick building with its name in large white letters across a brown shingled roof.
