Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities runs this Davenport ReStore. Sales raise money to build and repair homes, and the store keeps usable building materials out of landfills. Its stock covers furniture and home goods along with doors, windows, lighting, flooring, cabinets, plumbing, tools, appliances, antiques and home medical equipment. Builders, DIYers, crafters and house-flippers all shop here.
Anyone can donate new or used building materials, appliances, furniture and home medical supplies, either by dropping them off or by asking for a pick-up. Volunteers sign up for shifts after an orientation and get jobs that fit their abilities and interests. The store is open for shopping Thursday through Saturday. It opened more than 20 years ago as the first ReStore in Iowa.
