Sealy's Goodwill thrift store and donation center is open seven days a week, with evening hours, for both shopping and dropping off donations. Donors bring items to a separate entrance at one end of the building, marked by a large blue "Donation Center" sign.
The store is run by Goodwill Houston, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its sales support job training and placement services for people with barriers to employment, including veterans, older workers, at-risk youth, formerly incarcerated people and people with disabilities. The organization educates, trains and hires these workers to help them thrive. It also links people, families and communities to improve lives and meet the region's current and future workforce needs. That work reaches into Sealy through the store, where every purchase and every donation feeds into it.
