Shoppers and donors in Asheville can use this Goodwill seven days a week, and it stays open into the evening on some days. It is both a store and an attended donation center. It takes clothing, shoes, furniture, books, housewares, linens, jewelry, collectibles and working electronics such as flat-screen TVs. Large appliances, mattresses, CRT televisions, paint and recalled children's items are turned away. Furniture donations are preferred at retail stores like this one.
Sales fund free job training and career services from Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, a local nonprofit. Donations are tax-deductible. Computers of any brand and in any condition are accepted for recycling through the Dell Reconnect program. The store sits in a red brick building with a blue Goodwill sign, backed by a wooded hillside.
