Donations are both dropped off and sold at this Goodwill Store and Donation Center in Winston-Salem, which is open seven days a week and into the evening. Sales here pay for the free job training, career counseling and youth services of Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina. The store fills a red-brick building with the Goodwill name in blue letters across the front.
The most needed donations include clothing, shoes, furniture, books, linens, housewares, jewelry, collectibles and working electronics. Computers of any brand and in any condition are accepted for recycling through the Dell Reconnect program. Large appliances, mattresses, building materials, paint, CRT televisions and often-recalled baby items such as cribs and car seats are turned away. All donations are tax-deductible, and furniture is best brought to a retail store like this one.
