Lexington, North Carolina, has a Goodwill that combines a retail store and a donation center at one location. It's run by Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, a nonprofit that also offers career centers, skills classes and job programs across the region. At the register, shoppers can buy and redeem gift cards, and the store accepts returns.
Donations of goods are taken at the same site where shoppers browse, so giving and buying happen under one roof. The doors open seven days a week, and the store stays open into the evening Monday through Saturday. Blue Goodwill lettering and the logo sit on the red brick front above the entrance, and racks of clothing fill the sales floor behind its wide windows.
