Every sale at Mona's Nifty Thrifty goes to help rescue animals. The shop is the second store run by the Mona Pants Foundation, which also runs a pet food pantry and a project that supplies oxygen mask kits for pets. It stocks only donated goods: men's and women's clothing, accessories, handbags and jewelry. Shoppers can come in four days a week, including Sundays.
The foundation takes donations to keep the racks full. It also holds a weekly auction, and each week's money goes to a different rescue or program. The shop sits in Zebulon, North Carolina, and is the foundation's second storefront in town. All of its stock comes from donors, and all of its proceeds go to animal welfare work.
