Every purchase at The Acorn Resale Shop helps kids find life outdoors, because the Rockford, Michigan store is a ministry of Camp Roger. Its stock covers clothing, furniture, books and toys, and new sales are announced every week. The shop is open five days a week, and volunteers ages 14 and up help staff the store and sort donations.
Donors drop off items with volunteers on the east side of the store, ring a bell when they arrive and get a donation receipt. Items left outside are not allowed, and Camp Roger and Camp Scottie do not take donations. Everything donated has to meet posted quality guidelines. For large furniture, a contracted third-party hauler can be hired to pick up donations and deliver purchases. The white building has green trim and a red roof.
