Restored and upcycled antique and vintage furniture fills the showroom at Colonial Treasures Workshop in Greenville, Michigan, along with home decor. Two upcyclers combined their shops in a historic downtown building, where the workshops sit right beside the showroom. Their aim is to save quality furniture, much of it made in the USA decades ago, including pieces built in Michigan.
Furniture with good wood is conditioned and sometimes given a fresh coat of poly instead of paint. Pieces with damaged or lower-grade wood are repaired and painted. Much of the stock comes from auctions and estate sales, and new items arrive almost daily. The shop also takes custom requests. It's open six days a week and closed Sundays, and its white board-and-batten front sits above a red brick base.
