Clothing for the whole family fills this Bethpage thrift store, along with dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Savers, a for-profit reuse company, runs the store, which opens seven days a week and stays open into the evening. Every Tuesday is Senior Tuesday for shoppers 55 and older, and Super Savers Club members get access to members-only sales. Big red Savers letters run across the store's pale brick front.
An on-site donation center takes clothing and shoes, bed and bath goods, books and media, games and toys, small appliances, small furniture and sporting goods. Dropping off items earns a discount on a later purchase. Shopping here does not benefit a charity, but donating does, because Savers pays Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island for every donation it receives.
