Richmondville is home to the Catholic Charities Thrift Shop, run by Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie Counties. The shop is part of a nonprofit that provides essential human services to help individuals and families achieve personal and social growth. It serves everyone regardless of race, creed, lifestyle choice or religious affiliation, with particular emphasis on the poor and vulnerable.
Alongside the thrift shop, the organization runs a food pantry, counseling, housing assistance, senior services, a domestic violence program and a summer food program that served about 1,717 lunches in 2025. Donations of goods are welcome, as are gifts of time and money. The shop is open four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday.
