A rescue thrift shop in Burlingame, Treasure Paws Thrift raises money for animal welfare. It is operated by Treasure Paws, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose stores are sustained by donors, employees and volunteers. Each Treasure Paws store partners with an established animal rescue organization, which receives a percentage of that store's monthly revenue. The nonprofit also commits to providing healthcare and livable wages to the people who work for it.
The shop's stock comes from donated goods, and donations beyond what the store can use go to local partner organizations that help people in need. The business is certified through the California Green Business Network, and the organization treats reuse and recycling as part of its work. The store sits in a pale teal building and is open seven days a week, with evening hours on at least one day.
