United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay owns and operates this Novato thrift shop as part of its employment programs. Sales bring in revenue for the nonprofit's programs, and the store gives paid work to adults with developmental disabilities who attend the organization's Adult Day Programs. These workers help customers, sort merchandise, price items and make labels, stock shelves and racks, set up store displays and run the cash register.
Flipside Thrift takes donations of clothing and other items, and its workers also get training and skill-building and take part in community outreach events. The wood-sided building has a wooden pergola built over its front entrance. The doors open seven days a week, and on at least one day the store stays open into the evening.
