Donated and surplus furniture, appliances, building materials, tools and home décor fill the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Paso Robles, a nonprofit home improvement thrift store run by Habitat for Humanity SLO County. The selection changes constantly, and every purchase goes toward the organization's work building homes, community and hope close to home. Inside, rows of metal shelving hold bright red, blue and gray bins packed with loose nails, screws and other fasteners.
Donated items must be in safe, clean, usable condition, and the store follows set guidelines on what it accepts. Donors can also schedule a pickup online instead of dropping items off. Beyond the sales floor, the ReStore offers online shopping, welcomes volunteers and hosts its own events. The Paso Robles store is open five days a week.
