Run by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento, this nonprofit home improvement store and donation center sells new and used furniture, appliances, building materials, fixtures and home goods to the public. Sales help fund affordable housing for low-income families, seniors and veterans, and in the past year the store kept more than a million pounds of usable materials out of local landfills.
Stock changes constantly and runs from cabinets, doors, windows, tile, flooring, paint, tools and lumber to sinks, tubs, light fixtures, couches, dining tables and exercise equipment. The sales floor sits in a long warehouse with exposed wooden roof trusses, green steel columns and blue department signs. The store is open Tuesday through Saturday and takes donations Wednesday through Saturday. ReStore Rewards members get extra savings on the second Wednesday of each month, and seniors and veterans get them on the third Friday.
