Every dollar from the Interfaith Food Bank Thrift Store in Sutter Creek goes to feeding hungry people in the area, and the store is the food bank's main source of money for operating costs. It is open six days a week and closed Sundays. Racks carry clothing and shoes for the whole family in every season, including baby and toddler sizes and outfits suited to job interviews. The rest of the floor holds furniture, housewares, linens, dishes and small kitchen appliances. Donations are accepted every day except Thursday and Sunday, and clothing is not taken on Wednesdays.
The Interfaith Council took ownership of the store from Trinity Episcopal Church, and it opened on January 2, 2009. Seniors 60 and older get discounts on Mondays, and vouchers from partner agencies can be traded for free clothing. A green-and-cream sign hangs above the windows, with a row of newspaper racks lined up out front.
