In Keller, the Stepping Stones Thrift Boutique is run by Stepping Stones Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves youth in crisis throughout North Texas. The foundation recently relaunched the boutique as a social enterprise. Every purchase helps fund its work with young people, including safe shelter, food, mentorship and job training.
Sales support the foundation's programs Project Oasis, Hunger Force, Perseverance and Career Launch. The shop accepts donations of new and used clothing and shoes. Its space is small, so it does not take furniture or other large items. Besides shopping and donating, the community can also volunteer at the boutique, which is open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday.
