Shopping at the Grant store in Houston, Texas, helps fund Goodwill Houston, a nonprofit that educates, trains and hires people who face barriers to employment. Its job training and placement services reach veterans, older workers, at-risk youth, people who were formerly incarcerated and people with disabilities. The location is also a donation center, so goods can be dropped off at the same place where shoppers browse.
The building has a stacked-stone front set with star medallions, and its sign reads Goodwill Select beside a Goodwill logo in the colors of the Texas flag. The doors open seven days a week, and every day the hours run into the evening.
