Open seven days a week and into the evening on at least one day, the American Council of the Blind Thrift Store in Lubbock carries clothing, shoes, accessories, linens, housewares, kitchenware, furniture, jewelry, books, electronics, movies, music and seasonal goods. New merchandise comes in daily. A bright blue-and-yellow sign out front calls it both a thrift store and a donation center.
The store is run as a charity, and all of its profits go to the American Council of the Blind to fund advocacy for blind and visually impaired people. The organization has been running thrift stores since 1985. Shopping, donating and volunteering here all support that mission.
