Sherman's Salvation Army Family Store is run by the local Salvation Army corps, part of an international Christian movement. Besides the shop, the corps runs a food pantry, shelter services, financial assistance and a worship center. The store sells donated clothing, furniture and household goods and is open five days a week.
The sales floor holds a mix of older seating, with painted wooden side chairs next to white wicker armchairs and chairs dressed in floral and striped cushions. Donations of clothing, furniture and household items are welcome, and the store will pick up items from donors who call to arrange it.
