The Inn Crowd Boutique sends every dollar from its sales to Shepherd Inn, a nonprofit in Corsicana, Texas, that provides transitional housing for families working to recover from addiction. The shelves carry new and secondhand clothing, shoes and household goods. There are also handmade items such as purses and jewelry, along with greeting cards. Donations are accepted and are tax deductible.
The boutique also runs a free skills workshop where residents and community members learn crafts like crocheting, candle making, painting and screen printing. New artists can keep their work, give it away or sell it through the store's consignment boutique. Behind the sales floor is a resource lab that offers one-on-one help finding free and low-cost services. The store is open five days a week and recently moved to a larger space.
