Community Thrift & Gift fills its tables with rows of plastic baskets holding small toys, fidget keychains, slime cups and candy, each basket marked with a handwritten price card. Articulated dragons in bright blue and purple hang above the displays. The shop carries both thrift and gift goods under one name, a pairing reflected in its title. It serves shoppers in Phil Campbell, Alabama, from its spot in town. Doors open five days a week, giving regulars most of the week to stop in and browse the baskets.
