A nonprofit thrift shop in Summerfield, Tabitha's Closet raises money for Tabitha Ministry, a North Carolina charity that provides help, hope and a home for hurting women. The store also gives ministry residents a chance to build job skills, gain work experience and complete community service hours. Its stock covers clothing for men, women and children, household goods and decor, toys, games, puzzles, books, bedding, rugs, bath items, small appliances and kitchenware.
A separate boutique section holds higher-end clothing, shoes and gifts, each priced individually and kept apart from the regular stock. Everything for sale is donated by the local community, and donations are tax-deductible. The shop is open five days a week, and on its wood-floored sales floor, extra clothing hangs high along the walls above the racks.
