A thrift store in the town of Fyffe, Alabama, Powell Hardware keeps its doors open seven days a week. Saturday and Sunday shoppers find it open just as on weekdays. A wide white sign across the front of the building spells out the store's name in heavy black capital letters, with a neon OPEN sign glowing red and blue in the window beside the entrance.
