A charity thrift store run by Pensacola Teen Challenge, SuperThrift on North 9th Avenue gives 100% of its sales proceeds to Teen Challenge residential programs for teens and adults recovering from addiction. It is operated by Teen Challenge Southeast, a faith-based nonprofit, and people in the program train at the store in customer service and retail operations. The store sells secondhand clothing, furniture and household items.
Donations of goods are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows, and donors can ask to have items picked up. The shop is open six days a week, into the evening on at least one of them, and closed on Sundays. Big pinkish-red SUPER THRIFT letters run across its gray metal front, next to a Pensacola Teen Challenge sign.
