Proceeds from Molly Mutt I Thrift Shop in Merritt Island go entirely to the homeless animals of the Brevard Humane Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit no-kill shelter and sanctuary founded in 1952. Members of the society get exclusive discounts. The hot-pink building has a mural of a black cat, a cartoon dog and a tennis ball painted across its side.
Donations are accepted every day and are tax deductible. Items are usually checked in the day they arrive and often go on sale within 24 hours. Everything donated must be in working order, and the shop does not take televisions, pianos, or mattresses unless they are brand new. Pick-ups of larger donations can be scheduled, and purchased items can be delivered. The doors are open seven days a week.
