The Chipola Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Marianna sells donated home goods and building supplies to the public, and its proceeds help build Habitat homes locally and around the world. The affiliate behind it has worked alongside families since 1988 to build, repair and preserve affordable housing. The stock ranges from cabinets, doors, windows, flooring and light fixtures to furniture, appliances, housewares, books, clothing and tools. The store occupies a cream metal building trimmed in lime green, with sky-blue awnings over the windows.
Donations are accepted whenever the store is open, which is weekdays only. Items should be in good, working condition, and appliances must be less than twelve years old. Televisions, computers and oil-based paint are not accepted. The store picks up large donated items, and businesses can schedule a pickup for excess inventory.
