Mission Thrift sends 100% of its profits to Christian Hospitality Network, funding GetAway retreats that give missionaries and their families a place to rest while serving on the mission field. The Edgewater, Florida shop carries clothing and accessories, furniture and home goods, and it is open on weekdays and closed on weekends. Its light blue metal building has a long white banner with the store's name in navy letters.
The store takes clothing, linens, furniture, working electronics and working appliances as long as they are clean, undamaged and free of odors or pests. It turns away used mattresses, car seats, building materials, auto parts, gas appliances and food, among other items. Large items can be picked up for free, and volunteers of all ages sort donations, stock shelves and build displays.
