A faith-based ministry thrift shop in Homosassa, the Nature Coast Ministries Thrift Shop raises money for the charitable work of Nature Coast Ministries. This 501(c)(3) organization runs a no-cost dental clinic for veterans and for people living below the federal poverty guidelines. Sales from the shop fund that work, and the merchandise is kept affordable for struggling families.
Donated items also go straight to people in hard times. The shop makes a special effort for grandparents raising grandchildren, veterans, single parents and their children, victims of domestic abuse, and people who have lost everything to fire or natural disaster. Across the front, green letters spell out "Thrift Store" with a palm tree for the "O," under a yellow Nature Coast Ministries sign. The shop is open on weekdays and closed on weekends.
