Designer clothing, purses and shoes share the floor with men's, women's, children's and plus-size clothing at Hope Chest Resale Store in Cape Coral, alongside furniture, used books, craft supplies, antiques, collectibles, jewelry and housewares. New items arrive daily. Hope Healthcare runs the shop, and its proceeds pay for care for people with serious illness and their families.
Volunteers, supported by management, accept donations, sort and price goods, and stock the shelves, and anyone 14 or older can join them. Clothing and home goods go to the drop-off area at the back of the building. Donations are tax-deductible and come with receipts, and free furniture pickup runs Monday through Saturday. The store is closed on Sundays. Its tan front carries a blue butterfly logo above the words Resale Store and Boutique.
