In Gainesville, the Haven Attic Resale Store raises money for Haven Hospice. Its sales directly fund the programs and services that support Haven patients, their families and others in the community. New stock goes out daily, drawn from donated clothing, electronics, appliances, housewares, furniture, children's toys and more.
The whole inventory comes from donations by individuals, businesses and organizations, and staff provide receipts for tax purposes. The store will pick up or deliver large items by arrangement. Volunteers receive, sort, price and sell the merchandise, and the store is open six days a week and closed Sundays. It sits in a long teal metal building with its name in white letters across the top and tall palms beside it.
