Project HOMEspun Boutique pays wages to the Project HOME residents who staff its sales floor, turning resale clothing into jobs and job training for people recovering from chronic homelessness. Run as a social enterprise of Project HOME, the shop trains and employs five or more residents and teens each year in retail operations and customer service.
Racks hold casual wear alongside designer and vintage clothing and accessories, plus candles, mugs and cards from the Project HOMEmade gift line and original artwork by resident artists. Donations of like-new coats, shoes, jewelry, purses and other accessories are taken Monday through Saturday and are tax deductible, while household goods and electronics are not. A yellow awning with the HOMEspun name shades the front window, and the doors open seven days a week.
