In Chevy Chase, the All Saints Thrift Shop & Boutique fills the lower level of All Saints Church. The Women of All Saints run it as a ministry of the church, with volunteers staffing it. It sells quality secondhand clothing, jewelry, decorative items, small housewares and toys. Sales support the church's Mission & Outreach work, and the shop gives some clothing free to people referred by a priest, a social service agency or a recognized charity.
Donations come in only during open hours, which run four days a week, Sundays included. Fall and winter clothing is taken from May through December, and spring and summer items from January through June. Furniture, electronics, electric kitchen appliances and textbooks are not accepted. The shop's name is spelled out one letter per pane across a window set into the church's fieldstone wall.
