Donated goods dropped off at the Marlborough Savers are bought from Epilepsy Foundation New England, and that payment helps fund the foundation's work on epilepsy education, advocacy and research. Savers itself runs as a for-profit company, so purchases in the store don't go to any nonprofit. The donation center takes clothing and shoes, books and media, housewares, bed and bath items, electronics, games and toys, sporting goods, small appliances, small furniture, backpacks and purses.
The shelves carry clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books and electronics. Shoppers 55 and older get a discount every Tuesday, and Super Savers Club members get access to members-only sales. The store is open seven days a week and stays open into the evening. Big red lettering stands out on the cream-colored gable, and red awnings run along the front.
